If I sue for damages in a Florida auto accident case, will I hurt the person who I sue?

Transcript

That is a very good question and it calls for an answer that is both philosophical, moral, and practical. When our forefathers wrote the Constitution, they provided for a means of redress for wrongs that are committed against us. In that means of redress, we are allowed to collect damages from a wrongdoer or be made whole. Our forefathers determined that that was a far better solution than for people to do violence on another, or to seek revenge. In Florida, if you are involved in an accident and someone causes injury to you, if that person has insurance, they have paid a premium for that insurance that they elected to have. So they will not be harmed directly.
